The latch mechanism and lock actuator could also be in need of replacement due to normal wear and age. Please inspect both prior to installation of this kit.
When inspecting the latch mechanism inspect the inner latch to make sure the metal latch still has its plastic coating. This coating can cause the latch to stick/rattle as the plastic coating comes apart over time. When the latch sticks it can cause issues with the lock actuator not being able to lock/unlock.
When inspecting the lock actuator listen closely to the rear latch area while lock/locking the doors. Best way to inspect the lock actuator is to pull the latch mechanism out of the door and keep the big plug to the actuator connected and the small plug disconnected, then visually inspect the lock/unlocking sequence.
Best to replace the latch and lock actuator at the time of the Bypass Lever installation for best results and longevity. We always recommend OEM latch and lock actuator if possibly.
